The village of Elie is a 5 minute drive from the estate. The village itself offers a range of local shops offering many different foods and goods. The main attraction of the village is the golden beach which offers a great place for the kids to play in the summer with a water sports centre and sailing club for those who really want to get out onto the water. The village is a great destination for a night out with a few good restaurants and pubs for you to relax and enjoy the company of the locals. In summer months the Ship Inn is the perfect destination on a warm sunny afternoon to sit and relax in the beer garden which looks out over Elie Bay.
Pittenweem, 7.7 km from Kilconquhar Castle
Pittenweem is well worth a visit with a vast number of art galleries and local shops with interesting gifts and crafts. The village also boasts some wonderful cafés if you are looking for some home baking to enjoy at lunchtime. Anstruther has been built up over the years around its impressive harbour. For those who would like to find out more about the history of Anstruther, the Fisheries Museum will definitely be worth a visit. Crail is a lovely fishing community nestled in the corner of the East Neuk of Fife. The village offers one of the most well photographed harbours in the United Kingdom due to its historic walls and design.
